Strategy


Developing a quality assurance system at the faculty level based on a self evaluation and a comprehensive review of all faculty departments to compare the current situation to  standard levels so that strength points can be identified and enhanced and weaknesses can be cured through the development of the faculty human and physical resources and the improvement of the content of programmes offered by the faculty so that they become compatible with labor market requirements and community needs in the light of standard levels .


Mission
Compliance with and maintenance of academic traditions;
Creating the appropriate learning environment that would help students to be creative in the various sport fields in order to prepare a graduate who is capable of competition in scientific fields and meeting labor market requirements;
Excellence in scientific research according to international standards;
Providing scientific advice and expertise to sports organizations and institutions;
A commitment to disseminate and share sport knowledge to individuals and organizations concerned with sport

Excellence in teaching and learning:
Ensuring quality of programmes offered by scientific departments;
Identifying and measuring outputs of the learning process in line with offered programmes;
Urging scientific departments to enhance their programmes so that they can be accredited;
Controlling the number of students admitted so that they are within the limits of available physical and human resources to assure quality;
Developing a credit hour system for the undergraduate stage and conducting an assessment of the possibility of applying such a system in the light of the postgraduate stage experience in this respect.
Excellence in scientific research:
Conducting non-conventional research addressing community problems based on pre-determined priorities;
Finding stimuli that would encourage researchers to do scientific research;
Expanding the scientific research  programmes offered by the faculty so that they would cover various sport fields;
Providing the faculty with the state-of-the-art scientific equipment that would help upgrade scientific research done at the faculty;
Seeking non-traditional funding sources for scientific research, (eg., private funding, businessmen, sport federations, clubs and institutions);
Upgrading the faculty library and providing modern technology-based information sources to assist researchers;
Creating an integrated translation system for each programme.

Providing students with the best experience:
Expanding and developing current programmes offered to students;
Writing regular reports that measure students’ satisfaction with the learning process;
Conducting a self-evaluation to evaluate the outputs of the learning process of the different courses and see to what extent they are successful;
Creating non-traditional parties that would help facilitate the learning process;
Improving playgrounds and courts, tools and scientific equipment to cope with the quality assurance system.

 Promotion of sharing information and widening community involvement:
Encouraging concerned institutions to participate in the development process;
Creating channels to connect students, alumni, faculty staff members and associate staff;
Developing programmes to be uploaded on the faculty website for the purposes of marketing the faculty and the faculty graduates;
Promoting the life-long learning concept through providing assistance to those interested in distant learning using the appropriate technology
Modernizing the Physical Fitness Unit of the faculty to increase the benefit to students and the surrounding community.

Development of faculty staff members experience and skills
facilitating the participation of faculty staff members and associate staff in different training courses with the aim of honing their capacities and teaching skills;
providing fellowships.
